Michael Todd

Michael ToddProstate cancer history:

  • I was diagnosed in 2002 at the age of 52 after concerns about frequent need to urinate.  It came as a shock as I was otherwise fit, active and healthy in every way.
  • My Primary Care physician discouraged me from having PSA test, but thankfully I insisted on it.  My PSA was 18 and thus my PCa journey began.
  • A painful biopsy revealed cancer in several samples with a Gleason Score of 8
  • I researched all possible treatment options and eventually chose to have a radical prostatectomy at the Lahey Clinic outside of Boston.
  • As I approach the 7th anniversary of treatment I am grateful to have remained cancer-free, though I cope with some of the typical side-effects of surgery.

Experience at speaking about prostate cancer:

  • Extensive experience speaking about PCa to groups big and small including public conferences on PCa, men’s groups, church groups, service clubs such as Rotary and for businesses promoting wellness among their employees
