These two, 30-minute video about prostate cancer and its effect on the lives of several Maine men and their families were produced by the Maine Coalition to Fight Prostate Cancer (MCFPC) and Time Warner Cable of Maine. You may view the streamed videos on our website now. The series will also appear on Time Warner's Public Access channels throughout Augusta and September.
About the series
The first of the series was recorded in the summer of 2009 and is entitled "Prostate Cancer: What Men and Women Need to Know." The video features Mona Ervin as host with panelists Jon Henry of Hampden, Michael Todd of Brunswick and Nelson Leavitt of Augusta. The three panelists, all prostate cancer survivors, tell their stories from diagnosis through treatment and detail the emotional impact on their wives and families. Mona Ervin is the wife of a prostate cancer survivor and discusses the impact of prostate cancer on spouses and family members. The program was first played on local cable stations around the state during September, 2009 - Prostate Awareness Month.
The second video was produced in spring of 2010 and is entitled, "Prostate Cancer: What Men and Women Need to Know - Part 2." This program also fearures Mona Ervin as host and moderator with panelists: Terry Kungle of Woowich, Arthur Stolpestad of South Portland, and Jon Henry of Hampden, Maine. The new television program will air on Time Warner Cable public access channels in August and September in concert with Part 1 of the series.

The Maine Coalition to Fight Prostate Cancer (MCFPC) has produced a new television program about prostate cancer and its effect on the lives of Mainers and their families. Entitled, What Men and Women Need to Know about Prostate Cancer, Part 2, the new program is a sequel to the acclaimed program produced last summer and aired on public access channels around the state last September.
